Road freight from Turkey to Central European venues typically takes 4–7 days, with customs cleared duty-free under the temporary export regime via an ATA carnet. In a well-planned operation the stand arrives 1-2 days ahead of the installation crew; in a badly planned one, the fair itself is at risk.

Shipment modes: dedicated or groupage?
A mid-size custom stand usually fills one truck — and with a dedicated vehicle, route and schedule are entirely yours. For small stands and graphic refreshes, groupage is economical but adds an estimated 2-3 days of transit.
For heavy exhibits (machinery, natural stone) the combined sea + road option enters the picture: costs drop, but the 3-5 week transit pulls the production schedule forward. Your stand type and fair calendar decide the mode.
ATA carnet and customs paperwork
The ATA carnet lets exhibition goods leave and re-enter the country temporarily without duties; it is issued through the chambers system, and a complete goods list is critical — anything not on the carnet causes trouble at the border.
Consumables (brochures, hospitality, giveaways) cannot travel on the carnet and need a separate commercial-invoice setup. Managing that split is part of our exhibition logistics service.
Transit times and schedule sync
Indicative road times from Istanbul: 4-6 days to German venues, 3-5 to Italy, 5-7 to France and Spain. Adding a 1-2 day buffer for border congestion is our standard field practice.

In-hall operations and the return leg
Arrival is not the finish line: storing empty cases during the show, returning them at closing and loading the return leg belong to the same plan. Empty-case storage is paid and reservation-based at most European venues.
